September 16, 2011 (Washington, DC) — The President of the Republic South Sudan Gen Salva Kiir Mayardit will lead the first ever delegation of South Sudan to UN General Assembly meeting. The President will address the General Assembly on the 23rd of September 2011 for the first time after South Sudan became the free Independence state. While in New York the President will have more bilateral meetings with Presidents and Heads of government and these include the President of USA Barack Obama, President of Georgia, President of Lebanon Gen Michel Sleimn, Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of Greece, President of Austria Heinz Fischei and many more.
The president will address the UN General Assembly to highlight the role of the new Republic of South Sudan in contributing to the world peace, fighting global terrorism, challenges facing the new nation and viability of the two states of South Sudan and North Sudan as friendly nations.
