“It may be true that the law cannot make a man love me, but it can stop him from lynching me, and I think that’s pretty important”. Said by: Martin Luther King
July 10, 2013 (SSNA) — An elderly invigorated American friend has asked me about the secret behind the overwhelming victory in referendum results, which took place in South Sudan and in the Diaspora, then leads to its independence on the historical day of July 9th?
The question was rather direct and quick, which made me to think for a second. Then, with optimism, I was puffed with pride and self-adulation of this historical achievement. And I promptly answered that: unity, dedication and certainly the commitment of the people of South Sudan (who have suffered for more than half a century long and counting) were all behind the outcome of the referendum.
I don’t agree with the notion that our nation must resign itself to inevitable decline, yielding its proud position to other hands. I am unwilling to see this country that we inherited from our forefathers fails in its obligation to itself and our fallen mytres, heroes, and to the other free and liberated peoples of southern Sudan.
Debate about corruption and the corrupters became the odd of the day in our beloved country named south Sudan, but, without taking the bold action to solve it, all the effort will be flashed down ….. Therefore, the blame games, and exchange of accusations will not help, unless something tangible need to be done to eradicate this cancer from its roots.
Many people in our today society are frustrated by our system fragmentation; the inability of our President Salva Kiir Mayadit, and his second man vice President Dr. Machar to agree about how to solve their differences in a professional procedures, addition to that; tackling our nation rampant corruption, insecurity, embezzlement of public funds, thus, the absence of Justice among its citizens, and many more!
What a shame?
The enemies of peace in our new born nation are vigorously circulating speculations and rumors around the globe about whether or not South Sudanese people have the essential capability to rule and care for themselves, especially, the current political debate between two leaders is really disturbing, just to say the least, due to insufficiency of the factual of the conflict!
I said it many times, and I will say it again; debating and exchanging words in the media is not healthy, instead, will escalate the situation. Therefore, a small tea party together is essential, and those speculations can be evadable.
The phrase goes; “No two men ever judged alike of the same thing, and it is impossible to find two opinions exactly similar, not only in different men but in the same man at different times.
My friends; “is easy to start the war, but is not easy to stop it”
In conclusion, in my humble opinion, we want to bridge the dividing gap between our two leaders, so that; the country will not descend into unnecessary bloody shed.
South Sudan is a homogenous country, if you will, due to all these various tribes dwelling in. But, despite all these; the influence of demagogue’s factious leaders may kindle a flame, and would be very hard to be extinguished.
I am crying for Help….Help!!
