Juba, November 29, 2016 (SSNA) — A house belonging to the independent medical humanitarian agency Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has been robbed in Mundri on Saturday.
In a statement extended to the South Sudan News Agency, the aid group said it has evacuated of its team after “an armed robbery” took place and that its team was working to open a new medical project in the area.
“An armed robbery took place in Médecins Sans Frontières house in Mundri on Saturday 26th of November that led to the evacuation of the team,” the statement reads in part.
The agency expresses concern for its staff, adding the situation forced it to put its activities on hold.
MSF says it does not have any information regarding the identity of the people who committed the crime and urges South Sudanese warring factions to “respect humanitarian medical care and ensure that MSF can provide urgently needed medical care for the population.”
