Juba, April 30, 2018 (SSNA) — The Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) also known as Doctors Without Borders said it medical personnel have stopped working at its healthcare clinic after a violent armed robbery was carried out against the employees.
MSF explained in a statement that a group of heavily armed unknown gunmen stopped the agency’s workers on April 24 and physically assaulted them.
“While the MSF team was delivering much-needed healthcare to remote areas of Mundri, a group of 10 unidentified armed men stopped their convoy, physically assaulted the team, threatened them with violence and took their personal belongings, along with medical supplies and other MSF property,” MSF said in a statement.
The group said the robbery occurred in South of Mundri and condemned the act. The French-based medical charity also said it will not resume operations in Mundri until is assured by armed groups operating in the areas.
