Juba, January 7, 2018 (SSNA) — All 16 oil wells in Unity have restarted producing oil five years after the civil broke out, the New York-based Bloomberg news agency reported.
Juba wants to generate money from oil to fund a transition government proposed in September 2018 Khartoum’s peace agreement.
South Sudan is currently producing 155,000 barrels per day and aims to double it by end of this year.
The South Sudan News Agency (SSNA) has learned that five of the Unity sixteen oil wells were opened on the 31st December 2018.
South Sudan has a weak economy system and depends heavily on its oil sector.
