Juba, May 8, 2021 (SSNA) — The South Sudanese main parties to the revitalized peace agreement have agreed to dissolve the current Parliament paving the way for the Reconstitute Parliament to be sworn and take over, the South Sudan News Agency (SSNA) has learned.
The move comes more than a year after a transitional government was formed.
The new Parliament which will be 550 members, will replace the 400-member Parliament with the government to take more than sixty percent of the total 550 MPs.
The SSNA was not able to confirm the date when the new Parliament will be sworn in and take over the legislative responsibilities.
