Addis Ababa, July 12, 2024 (SSNA) — Sudan’s military-run government has ordered foreign nationals in Khartoum to leave immediately, saying it is concerned with their safety.
The move comes after the Sudan army said it has captured people from Mali, South Sudan, Chad, Ethiopia, and Niger fighting alongside the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The Sudan News Agency (SUNA) said the expulsion order came from the Director of the Department of Foreigners and Immigration Control and the Khartoum State Security Coordination Committee.
South Sudan, Ethiopia, Mali, Niger, and Chad have not confirmed or denied the alleged capture of their citizens in Sudan’s civil war.
