South Sudan News Agency Top Editor Resigns

September 26, 2024 (SSNA) — The editor-in-chief of the US-based South Sudan News Agency (SSNA) Duop Chak Wuol is set to step down at the end of this month, saying he has other commitments that need his attention.

In a letter to SSNA management, Wuol thanks the South Sudan News Agency for allowing him to serve as its top editor for more than a decade.

“I am writing to resign as editor-in-chief of the South Sudan News Agency (SSNA), effective September 30, 2024, due to other commitments, requiring my attention,” says Wuol, adding, “I have greatly enjoyed working as your editor-in-chief for over ten years and I am grateful for the opportunities to grow personally and professionally.”

Mr. Wuol told the SSNA that he plans to assist the next editor-in-chief in moving the agency forward.

Duop Chak Wuol has been at the helm of the South Sudan News Agency (SSNA) editorial team overseeing publications for over ten years. He is a prominent analyst, critical writer, and activist.
