Juba, December 7, 2016 (SSNA) — The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) has hosted a discussion intended to educate South Sudanese women the importance of education, especially in “conflict and post-conflicts” areas.
Saadia Aleem, who represents the UNMISS rights body says the “dialogue was necessary so they could identify the issues women face”, adding lack of access to education has created “real consequences that affect women’s rights to be safe.”
The UNMISS branded the dialogue as a ‘16 days of activism’ to raise aware about the need for women to go to school and how education can help them in understanding conflict-related issues.
