Juba, November 15, 2018 (SSNA) — South Sudan has received $77.5 million dollars from Donors, the UN Office of Coordination for Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in a statement.
OCHA says the money is intended for the growing humanitarian crisis, pointing out that nutrition, water and sanitation, food security and livelihoods, health, education, emergency shelter and non-food items for the displaced persons need urgent funding.
The UN humanitarian agency disclosed in the statement that in the donors have already given the funds to the South Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SSHF) and that Jonglei State will receive 33%, Unity State 20%, Upper Nile State 17%, and Eastern Equatoria State with 8%.
The donors include Norway, Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Ireland, Luxembourg, Australia, Switzerland, Germany, and Canada, according to the text.
