Addis Ababa, January 1, 2017 (SSNA) — The government of the Republic of South Sudan is preparing to send to Ethiopia a mobilization team tasked to advance recent “national dialogue’ message to rebel-held territories.

In a leaked document seen by the South Sudan News Agency (SSNA), South Sudan’s presidency main goal is to take peace to areas under the control of the armed opposition.

The leaked text shows the primary goal of South Sudanese President Salva Kiir and First Vice President Taban Deng Gai is to convince civilians who are in refugee camps, particularly those IDPs living in Ethiopian camps.

The SSNA confirmed that Kiir and Gai assemble a team of at least 20 individuals, most of whom hail from Gaatjaak Community, to lead the peace mission.

“The President [Kiir] is determined to end this war, so our national dialogue team is set to arrive in Addis Ababa…and head to Gambella and stay there for 30 days,” a confidential governmental source who prefers anonymity told the South Sudan news Agency on Saturday evening.

The source added that Juba “really” wants its peace delegation to arrive in Addis Ababa by the 5th of January 2017 and return to South Sudan by February 5, 2017.

The South Sudan News Agency confirmed that government’s reconciliation team, if sent, will be dominated by people from Gaatjaak areas.

The list of reconciliation team members includes Gach Wuol Guandong, Gach Puok Dak, Bol Ruach Rom, Chuol Dep Kier, Jacob Ruot Kuyoch, Buk Lul Joak, Biel Chol, Gach David Dedoch, Paul Bor Gatwech Kuany, Charles Wello Onyonyo, Khot Gatluak Teny, Gabrial Tut Gatchay Lual, Martha Martin Dar, Butrous Deng Both, Gatluak Liphoth Diew, Tulith Koang Diew, Nyalok Tiong Gatluak, James Kueth Chol, Wiyual Kuach, Yach Lul Puk, among others.

In response, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army-In Opposition (SPLM/A-IO) under the leadership of the Former South Sudanese Vice President and rebel Leader Dr. Riek Machar says Juba is just doing all it can to presence itself to the outside world as a peace-maker. The armed opposition blasted the government for not being truthful to the people of South Sudan, IGAD, African Union (AU), Troika, and the United nations.

“This is a big scheme, the government of the RSS [Republic of South Sudan], should be ashamed of itself,” Deng Mong, a senior army officer of the SPLA-IO told the South Sudan News Agency in rebel-stronghold Pagak.

Rebel officials asserted that Kiir’s reconciliation campaign is nothing but a fake scheme to confuse IGAD, African Union, and the international community of its true intention and threatened to wage a “serious campaign.”

The government source also asserted that Juba “really” wants its peace delegation to arrive in Addis Ababa by the 5th of January 2017 and return to South Sudan by February 5, 2017.

  • If this news is true, then it’s the best time to let those backstabbers, betrayers, traitors and money lovers to know once and for all that there is red line to cross. Gatjaak has been the backbone of naath people, now they are becoming traitors?
A lot of them in Addis become taban followers simply to advance their stomach. Be warned! These should not allowed to touch base in Gambella. The penalty for traitor globally is usually clear.

  • Another tour to bribe and saw discontent. Start to implement normality in Juba first. Eliminate restrictions on media and free reporting. Allow UNMISS and INGO and NGO free access to all parts of the country. That would give credibility and it could be seen as a step towards peace. Just sending more people out with bribe money, to continue the divide and conquer policy of the past is so well known and the ill intent is so obvious. Spend the money on the starving masses in South Sudan instead. Oh, and whilst I am at it, establish courts to try the instigators of the genocide.

Ha ha ha! This was what the
    kartoum based government
had been doing at the time we
    were fighting him,once apersons
defected to jalaba and declared their allegiance to khartoum,
    they were always sent back
fully equipped to fight their tribes
from which they hail to kill their
    mother, fathers, daughter and
    sons and to undermine their
    communties in support of their
enemy to get money, prior to
    accepting a bribe, you naath
    need to assimilate and evaluate
    the political intentions of your
    opponent, that mission aim at
splitting the nuers into dnt groups
so that the entire nuer community
is undermined, but it will not
    happens like you think, though
    moneylovers maycomply with
this, those who might have forgotten that nuers were masacred and burned in juba.

My advice to those Nuer who may be tempted to betray their brothers because of some few dollars that those murderers in Juba have set to bribe you in the name of National Dialogue, remember thousands of your brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers who were killed in cold blood in December 2013 by the same murderers government of Salfa Kiir. Let me remind you that this money is a blood money if you take the money and betray your people, it will be a curse to you and your family so let the gang team that is set to be despatch to Addis return empty handed as they left. Taban Deng is a traitor therefore he should not be given un opportunity. Late Garbino was a traitor like Taban Deng remember where is he now? he was killed by our enemies who were using him to betray his own people. The same fate will happen to Taban if he fail to fulfilled his mission he will be kill by those of Salfa Kiir Malong and (JCE).
Remember what our visionary leader Dr John use to say and I quote ” that money belong to the people of Sudan if you are given money, take the money but don’t betray your people” the same quotation I say to you our Nuer brothers who my be tempted by the evil work of the devil Taban Den, take the money but don’t betray your people because that money do not belong to Taban Deng and Salfa Kiir. It is our money.
The so call National Dialogue is just a play game to deceive the ordinary people and the international community that the government is serious about peace. They are copying exactly what those of Bashir are doing in the North. If those of Salfa Kiir can betray the people of Abbey and the SPLM/A North who were the reason for Kiir government to retake all the towns in Upper Nile that were captured by the SPLM-IO force what do you thing will happened to you?

  • It is sad a new/fresh country with a huge potential to grow fast and relief the south Sudanese people from the suffering they had by the previous governments and during the straggle for independent is suffering again just because leaders can not resolve their differences around the table and free elections.
Any leader advocating war even disturbance at this era is ignorant himself. He/she is not capable to lead the country to promote development and Change people’s life.
People are bombarded by confusing propagandas and forced to side with the stupid leaders. Because it is hard for the people to know who is right and it will be to late to correct the confusion after people die and country’s economy flaten to the bottom of the chart.
Peace, Peace, Peace, Peace is the solution to change people’s living standard.
The so called “leaders” are responsible for all these distractions and cause more suffering to South Sudanese PEOPLE !!!!!!

  • It is not acceptable mission, unless Gajaak Community in Gambella are blindfolded by prepitrators’ money. Other why none of them will not return back to juba as such written out in the news.
If once may wonder to know about the objective of their mission, I can tell you how it would be like.
1, their aims is to create division among our people in Gambella and they will go beyond that.
2, they will create instability so that the entire region will be in jeopardy and then they will prepare anyuak and murelee communities for war to fight Nuer in the areas in the same manner as they did last year in April 2016.
3, our area will be like back in 1984-2000 when SPLA genocide and terrorized our entire Gajaak Communities.
Last year SLPA agents led by Yau Yau went to Gambella in pretext of peace to address the security issues between Ethiopia and Southsudan, so the question is what happened after that? The entire world know that if some one might need the answer and I can tell you people in Gambella, this is the mission of marginalized folks from killer selva kirr and blood sucker Taban Deng Gach. Do not accept that to happen again in Gambella.

The significant problems we face, as south Sudanese, cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at we created them. Many above named individuals, “tasked to bring peace or take peace” to the areas controlled by the SPLM/A-IO are my brothers. They should have had went straight to Pagak instead of Addis. War is not in the Gajaak controlled areas. Good-luck to the newly appointed governor of Maiwut, Bol Ruach Rom.
