October 4, 2019 (SSNA) — The new defectors claimed that five subsections of Gajaak United themselves against one, that was part of the reason they decided to join Salva Kiir who is the enemy to Gajaak. Yet, without any shame, they handpicked a few individuals who live in Gambella from the same five sections of Gajaak and misled Kiir that all Gajaak sections are under him. What a contradictory claim by the defectors!!

Gajaak Community leaders worldwide need to refute this statement immediately. It is absolutely wrong on their part to mislead Salva Kiir that all Gajaak is behind him. The new defectors went to Juba to secure logistics from Kiir in order to wage a war against the SPLA-IO Division 5 and massacre the civilians of the other five subsections. Gajaak and the entire Nuer community are aware of such a move. Five Gajaak sections of Gajaak plus 1/4 or even up to 33% of WADU community members are under the leadership of the SPLM-IO lead by the Chairman and Commander in Chief Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon.

We will continue standing with the rest of the Nuer sections and IO movement until we find the solution to the South Sudanese problem. I am calling on the other five Gatjaak subsections to refute the claims of those who are begging logistics with your names. Gatjaak names should not be used by a few individuals.
