Addis Ababa, June 5, 2015 (SSNA) —South Sudanese Peace Ambassador Gatwech Koang Nyuon has released statement stating that he is saddened by the death of South Sudanese academician, late Dr. Wani Tombe Lako.
In his prepared statement, Gatwech praises the late Professor for using his intellectual ability to help his country and fellow South Sudanese.
“I’m proud of Late Dr. Wani for dedicated his intellectual ability and knowledge to entire South Sudan, Africa and the World,” Gatwech said in statement obtained by the South Sudan News Agency (SSNA).
Peace ambassador admitted that he has never met Dr. Wani. He however, said late Wani as a symbol of hope.
“Late Dr. Tombe was a beacon [in] darkness. I personally never met him, but I have been following his statements and watched some videos online that express his real image. Death is death…there is no surprise for it’s where we all shall go,” added.
Gatwech also said he wants the people of South Sudan and their friends all over the World to pray for Dr.Wani’s family and urges them to let the almighty God to be the judge in investigating the cause of his death.
Professor Wani Tombe Lako died on Wednesday in Ethiopia. The cause of his death is yet to be determined.
