Juba, March 26, 2019 (SSNA) — South Sudan wants Qatar to help in its plan to increase oil output to the full level of production before the civil war broke out, South Sudan’s petroleum minister, Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth, said.
Ezekiel met with the Acting Chief Executive Officer Abdallah Mubarak Al-Khalifa of the Qatar National Bank (QNB) on Monday and the two men discussed ways to improve South Sudan’s oil production.
The South Sudanese minister urged Qatar to help the war-ravaged young nation to scale up its oil output.
“Together we have a lot of work to do to bring oil production back on stream at full strength. I have confidence that with QBN and our Qatari partners we can go far,” Ezekiel said.
On his part, Abdallah reaffirmed Qatar commitment to help South Sudan increases its oil production. South Sudan’s Petroleum Minister and QNB acting chief also discussed ways to improve ties in commerce, trade, economic development, infrastructure, and small businesses, according to the Qatari media.
