Juba, August 20, 2019 (SSNA) — A Chinese oil exploration group has discovered a new oil field in Northeastern Upper Nile, petroleum minister Awow Daniel Chuang discloses today.

On Monday, information minister Micheal Makuey Lueth announced that South Sudan has discovered an oil field in Adar’s Gasab area. Micheal did not say who or what oil company discovered the new oil field.

It is now emerged that the Chinese government-run China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) is the company that discovered the new massive 300 million reserves.

South Sudan depends heavily on oil revenues. It is currently producing 175,000 barrels a day and looking to increase that amount to the pre-war capacity of 350,000 barrel a day.

CNPC is one of China premier oil companies. It specialized is in hydrocarbon exploration and production operations in onshore and offshore areas in China and other countries, according to a statement on its website.

China dominates South Sudan’s oil sector and operates nearly all South Sudanese government-owned oil corporations.

If our President Salva Kiir Mayardit can tarmac all the roads in South Sudan and builds schools, hospitals and controls all prices within the country. Therefore,we don’t need another president in the country to confused us completely. We also need Chinese companies that can tarmac the road for 100 years.
