Juba, December 6, 2016 (SSNA) — An American freelance journalist working for the US-based Associated Press (AP) has been forced to leave the country by South Sudan’s National Security’s agents.

Justin Lynch, who has been working in South Sudan since July this year, was picked up by people who identified themselves as “agents” and took him to Juba International Airport and placed him on a plane destined for Ugandan capital, Kampala.

The South Sudan News Agency has been told that Lynch’s deportation is a result of his numerous reports which include recent documented ethnically targeted killings in and around Equatoria region and other part of the country.

South Sudanese Minister of Information Michael Makuei Lueth told AP that he has no knowledge of Lynch deportation.

South Sudan’s government has a history of arresting and torturing journalists, closing newspapers, and other human rights violations.

  • ya foolish Saba, you people need to differentiate between the government and mounyjaag/Dinka as a tribe, your hate against mighty Dinka will not change any thing in south Sudan and if you people think that your rebellion is all about chasing mounyjaang out of equatoria by force, it will not happen what i know is that South Sudan is for all of us as South Sudanese. and if we respond positively to your hate speeches against Dinka you people will run to Uganda like those years when we liberate South Sudan in your absentia

  • This Micheal West is still joking with Equatorian soldiers who started rebelling the government of brutat Arabs, the same will happen to this evil government of JEC؛
The war started in Equatoria in 1955 and it was ended in Equatoria that resulted to the total signing of CPA.
This jec will learn more lesson like what’s happenning in Yei now were some fighters cross to congo last week.

  • Equatorians are exceptional people, peace loving, hard working people, yes very welcoming. We’re all proud they are our South Sudanese. But whatever grievances are there, no need for an armed or attacked their fellow innocent citizen on the roads.
No an Equatorian was killed in Dinkaland.
Let put blame on foot of the right institution, not SPLA but SPLM for all these messes.

  • For those who are bitting drums of war, be it equatorians or else, the end of it is not promising to you. What had happened in 80s was an administrative division imposed on southerners by arabs in person of Jaafer Nimeri and was not forcible separation done by equatorians. So lets not mix unrelated events. The current hitrate will not lead us to what we fought for. Siuth Sudan is for all and the entire jieng/dinka community beleive in cause and was the reason they never complain when almost all equatoriams refused to join the movement and fight our common enemy. Instead, they form several malitia fronts to fight their own brothers (our gallant SPLA forces from behind. Yet the victory was achieved without you.. meaning the country was liberated from you and your allies. Nobody is saying that because dinkas will forget that as time passes on. But what you are doing right now will remind people of your bad deeds in the past and that will help us to co-exist as brithers and sisters sharing common interest and mutual understanding. We need to recognise that this country belongs to all of us without decrimination based on tribe, religion or geographical location. Lets accept ourself as we are.
