Juba, November 1, 2023 (SSNA) — South Sudan and Ethiopia say they are committed to promoting “people-to-people” relations and that the two nations have a long history of good relations.

The announcement comes after President Kiir and Ethiopian Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen met here in Juba.

It is not clear what exactly Kiir and Mekonnen discussed. However, South Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, James Morgan, says the two leaders discussed “bilateral matters” and that cooperation in areas of “mutual benefits” is important for the two countries.
