Juba, August 23, 2013 (SSNA) — The president of the Republic of South Sudan has issued a presidential decree naming the speaker of parliament James Wani Igga as new VP.

President Kiir dissolved his entire cabinet on July 23, a political shift received with mix reactions.

South Sudanese have in the first expressed dissatisfactions over Kiir’s previous government, accusing it of massive corruption, insecurity, among others.

The appointment of James Wani Igga must be approved by the South Sudan’s National Parliament.

Many south Sudanese believe that the speaker of South Sudan’s parliament Wani Igga is not a "serious politician". They believe he is too ‘submissive’ to the president.
