Re: The Lich Community in North America, Europe and Australia condemns mass killings, rape of girls, abductions of young girls and boys and destructions of civilians’ properties in Unity State by Kiir’s regime

May 15, 2015 (SSNA) — We, the Lich community in North America, Europe and Australia condemns in the strongest terms possible the mass killings, rapes of young girls, abductions of young girls & boys and destructions of civilians’ properties by Juba led government’s forces accompanied by militias from Mayom county in Unity State. These heinous crimes started late April and intensified on the 5th of May 2015 and it’s ongoing.

On May 5th, the Juba led government’s forces and its militias from Mayom County-led by PulJang Tap attacked Guit County and committed terrible crimes include mass killings, rapping (old women, women and young girls), abductions of young girls and boys, looting of cattle and destructions of civil populations’ properties in Guit County.

On May 8th, similar forces (Juba led government forces and companied by militias from Mayom County-led by PulJang Tap) launched an assaulted on Nhialdieu in Rubkona County and committed related crimes of mass killings, rapes, abductions of young girls and boys, looting of cattle and destructions of civilians’ properties. As a result, thousands of civil population fled Rubkona County while their livelihoods were being destroyed by government’s troops and its militias.

On May 9th  and 10th, the same Juba led government’s forces and its militias from Mayom County-led by PulJang Tap also attacked Bauw in Koch County and committed similar crimes of mass killings of civilians, rapes, abductions of young girls and boys, looting of cattle and destructions of civil populations’ properties.

On May 11th, Juba led regime accompanied by Warrap State’s youth militias and they launched an attacks on Panyijar and Mayiendit counties simultaneously. They have also committed the same heinous crimes they committed in Guit, Koch and Rubkona. According to our sources, it was reported that the attacks on civilian populations in Mayiendit and Panyijar counties is ongoing.

Again, a new offensive on civilian populations was reported on May 13th in Panyijar County. It was reported that Juba regime attacked Panyijar County by sea where they have destroyed civilians’ properties. Such similar attack is expected occur in Leer in the next few days.

Further, it’s imperative to stress that the abduction of young girls from Rubkona, Guit and Koch counties by government troops and Puljang Tap’s militias and forced them to be wives is insanely deplorable. This is a terrorist act. It’s a similar style employed by the Boko Haram in Nigeria where thy abducted 200 young girls at once which caused world nations outcry. Also, such act reminiscent to crimes committed when Leer County was attacked by the same militias under Khartoum regime between 1998 and 2001.

On the Panyijar County attack by sea, we learned that Juba regime used the United Nation signs and we are confidence that they will deploy the same tactic if they attack Leer by sea. As such, we, the Lich Community call on the United Nations in South Sudan and New York to condemn this deceitful and criminal act by Kiir’s government. We call on the United Nations to act immediately in order to remedy this callous act by Kiir’s regime.

In closing, we, the Lich community believes that Juba government has and is committing heinous crimes amounts to war crimes and crimes against humanity.  We, the Lich Community in North America, Europe and Australia condemned these acts in the strongest terms possible.
