Director General of Taxation Urges all Businesses to Register

Juba, June 1, 2012 (SSNA) — The Director General of Taxation, Ayom Mach Jok, reminds all businesses of their obligations to register with the national Directorate of Taxation. Registration is required even though a business has already registered with the Ministry of Justice. It is easy and there is no fee required to register.

In order to register, the applicant must complete Form 17-1 which can be obtained from any Directorate of Taxation branch office or downloaded from the Directorate of Taxation web-site. http://tinyurl.com/RSS-Taxation

All businesses are reminded that there are penalties that can be applied if a business fails to register with the Directorate of Taxation, up to and including imprisonment in severe cases.

Taxpayers can register at Directorate of Taxation offices located in the capitol city of each state. For further information call the Directorate of Taxation at Tel: +211 (0) 954 095 029.
