Job Summary:

Kampala, September 12, 2013 (SSNA) — The Outreach Officers will support the SIHA Programme Officer and will contribute to the implementation of SIHA programmes in South Sudan. The outreach will undertake community   networking and mobilisation.  The role is to conduct community liaison and implementation of core project activities as guided by the Programme Officer and relevant project obligations and plans. The Outreach Officer will liaise with local community actors, project target groups and community activists to support the implementation of the project, he or she will organise community meetings for project activities and will support the organisations of workshops, trainings and filed visits.  The Outreach Officers are central in ensuring the implementation of the SIHA positive engagement with local community in South Sudan.

Profile:

The candidates will have experience working for civil society /NGOs conducting community liaison, outreach and coordination not less than 3 years. The candidate will have direct experience working with civil society on social change, gender or human rights initiatives. Candidates are to be aware of the contextual political and social dynamics related to gender, human rights and social change in South Sudan. Experience in documentation and reporting is essential as is a commitment to the values of women/human rights, gender equality, respect and interest in social movement, is central to this post. Strong knowledge of South Sudan and Western Bahr Elghazal context is important. The candidates must least be able to communicate in English and one of commonly used languages in the region.
