New York, December 5, 2013 (SSNA) — The staff and members of the South Sudan Human Rights for Advocacy (SSHURSA) have received with great shock, the death of the former South African President Nelson Mandela. He died on December 5, 2013 at the age of 95 in South Africa.
SSHURSA staff and members country wide send their heartfelt condolences to the family of Mandela, South Africans and the entire world of conscience.
Nelson Mandela has been an icon of justice, peace and humanity. He fought against evils of Apartheid in South Africa and remained opposed to all forms of injustices which dehumanize the dignity of human beings.
His death is a sad event but his zeal, courage and thirst for a just, equal, equitable, human rights and rule of law abiding society shall remain a burning candle in the hearts and minds of all those who work for the good of humanity, the universality of human rights and rule of law.
Today December 5th 2013, in South Sudan also marks one year when South Sudanese Human Rights defender, colleague and friend Isaiah Abraham was assassinated in Juba, South Sudan and since then justice remains undone. As we remember Peace lover and forgiver Mandela, we remember also Isaiah and all those who died in thirst for a just nation to have South Sudan as an independent state. SSHURSA pays tributes to all fallen justice advocates world over.
SSHURSA staff and members thank Mandela for his life that he sacrificed to serve and save human dignity and may his soul rest in eternity. God bless him, God bless his family, God bless South Africa and may the world follow the exemplary life Mandela had lived. Madiba, we will always miss you.
