President Kiir collapses at khartoum’s Airport

Juba, November 4, 2014 (SSNA) — South Sudan’s President, Salva Kiir Mayardit, has on Tuesday collapsed at Khartoum’s airport while on a visit to Sudan.

The Dutch-based Radio Tamazuj has reported that Kiir collapsed in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.

The seriousness of the incident is yet to be determined.

Radio Tamazuj further alleged that Sudan’s intelligence agents seized cameras of Journalists who were at the airport covering Kiir’s visit.

However, a government source with the South Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs who asked not to be named substantiated the occurrence and told the South Sudan News Agency (SSNA) that Kiir did in fact collapsed but declined to provide details.

“Yes, it is true; President Kiir collapsed at Sudanese airport, but I am not giving you any more details at the moment”, the source said.

South Sudan is in the midst of civil war after Kiir accused his political adversaries of plotting a coup.

At least 1.5 million South Sudanese have fled their homes and tens of thousands of people have been killed.
