A British Aid Worker Shot dead in Juba

Juba, February 18, 2015 (SSNA) — A British humanitarian aid worker who works for the Carter Center in South Sudan’s capital, Juba, has been gunned down by unknown gunman at the Center’s compound.

South Sudanese government said the incident has indeed occurred and that the shooter still on the loose.

The killing happened barely a day after South Sudanese information Minister Michael Makuei Lueth called white people “blood-sucking mosquitoes” and threatened to “shutdown” the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

The identity of the deceased man has not yet been made public.

Carter Center is a US-based human rights organization founded by Former US President, Jimmy Carter.
