Juba, December 13, 2016 (SSNA) — At least six bodies were found just outside Yambio county, Western Equatoria state, a leaked report has revealed.

An internal United Nations report obtained by the Associated Press has disclosed that six lifeless bodies were located beside a road just outside Yambio town.

The document also says the deceased were found with gunshot wounds and signs of execution. The memo went in details, saying some of the bodies were handcuffed and blindfolded before they were killed.

The report further unveiled how South Sudan national army (SPLA) killed civilians “on the premise that they were suspected rebels,” citing locals who managed to escape from the carnage.

The UN estimated that the killing took place early this month and that there were burned huts near the dead bodies.

After hearing the discovery of the bodies, SPLA’s deputy spokesman, Santo Domic Chol, say civilians always like to accuse SPLA of abuses, adding that the locals must have “a political agenda.’
