For Immediate Release: February 2, 2017

February 9, 2017 (SSNA) — After a long struggle against my own conscience to represent that rogue ethnocentric police state of  Salva Kiir Mayardit as a soldier and diplomat for the last four years, I issue this press statement to inform the people of  South Sudan and the public press  to declare that  I Colonel Gai Chatiem Puoch,  have officially joined the people struggle in pursuit of equality and  justice  spearheaded by the SPLM/A(IO) against Kiir’s  kleptocratic and ethnocentric  police state from February 2, 2017. As mentioned afore, it has been extremely difficult to continue serving Kiir’s regime due to the following major reasons:

  1. Institutionalized tribalism: unlike all the modern conventional government, the JCE government of the day in Juba is not run by the national public institutions. It is rather a government of the tribe run by the tribal ruling council known as JCE. Jieng tribalism is thus institutionalized in of all of the public national institutions including the national army. This supposedly a national institution for the defense of the territorial integrity of South Sudan has been turned into a tribal tool of oppression. It has become openly a tribal entity and occupation forces grabbing other communities’ lands for the Dinka elites pushing everybody against the wall to armed rebellion.  Subsequently, millions have been trapped in the forest and are being hunted like animals by the tribal militias who use states resources and machinery to kill them
  1. State terrorism, human right abuse, genocidal and the ethnocentric policies: This regime has been pursuing since the year 2013. Through the prevailing culture of impunity, thousands and thousands of innocent citizens are languishing in ghosts’ houses without judicial processes. The regime has gone as far as kidnapping refugees from the neighboring countries and illegally deporting back to Juba.
  1. Kleptocratic policies and institutionalized corruption: Salva Kiir has introduced the deep-rooted culture of looting which has paralyzed all the public institutions leading to flagrant failure to provide social services and the infrastructural development in the country. This graft is evident in all the national public institutions dominated by one ethnic group but the National Army turned tribal militia (SPLA) is the most corrupt institution run by corrupt generals who are millionaires.
  1. Fascism and political militarism: Salva Kiir has been building a fascist state without peace and reconciliation program for the nation. In defiance of all the international regional pressures to implement the peace agreement signed in the year 2015, he has violated that agreement with impunity. Despite the economic crisis in the country, the regime is mortgaging the future of the country out to purchase weapons of war. It has been busy soliciting military pacts with foreign countries and mercenaries to execute the ongoing destructive civil war he manufactured to cling to his illegitimate power.

Signed: Colonel Gai Chatim Pouch, Former Defense Attache` of the Republic of South Sudan to Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi.

  • What are these defections all about? SPLM/A-IO are joining their mother SPLM/A to iron out the real causes of the current messes in our country through dialogues and reconciliations. Punished the criminals who have played games with our people, rebuked the criminals who made this mess happened in our country and our people.

And then we reconcile and move on to face our external problems. Fellows, we have massive external enemies that just want to kill our selves and then come take over our country free of charge.

We just need to get rid of this mess and come back together like we always do. Our adversaries at laughing at us through shoulders’ fellows. And we must put a full stop to all these nonsense fellows.

    • Kuch, how can a criminal talk about punishing another criminal???????? No way, why is the regime refusing the idea of creating a Hybrid court in South Sudan???????Fear of being criminalized. The idea of national dialogue is a white paper without a course. Organizing National Dialogue???????, Whose Dialogue?????, Who Initiated it????? Who are the Player in the engagement????????, what are the Objectives????????? Where are the civilians of south Sudan???????, We need accountability for the crimes committed first and perpetrators brought to books and then organize national dialogue for forgiveness and reconciliation. Period

  • Comment *escalating and accelerating the fight in ss is not the remedy but we urge AU and United Nations to act wisely to mitigate the conflict. military means will not bring peace in ss let alone murder, abduction, banishment or isolation of political rivalries. let us throw real light where the center is begging- Dr Machar and Kiir should hold accountable to the conflict…

  • I think to me defections means a lot,why should we turned the national army into a tribal institution? Why do we bring our village advisers into the national government that supposes to draw leaders from all the 64 tribes? Why do we keeping on talking of liberating other tribes from Arabs when all South Sudanese participated in the struggle in one way or another? Why do we bring our cattle to graze in people farms? Why do a mare soldier from Dinka not respecting generals from other tribes? Why do we create many states on tribal lines,is this not divide rule policy?
People should continue fighting this fascist government until its demise,we are tired of this incompetent JCE run government.
Good Col.Pouc, struggle must continue,no freedom given to the oppressed on a silver plate but through spilt blood and lost of beloved ones can one attain total freedom from the oppressors.

  • Yaaaa..Kuch, thanks for the first time that you’ve (at-least made some sense) in your comments coz you have at-least sounded like a TRUE south Sudanese who respects diversity. however, put in mind that the MESS causers you claim to be punished for peace to come to south Sudan have impunity that is self obtained through the help of evil supporting tribes-men who use the gun to silence the would-be purnishers at all cost… even if it means killing all the civilians in a given ‘own rights demanding community’ as a shield to deter accountability (an illiterate, bastard, non patriotic and coward commander’s winning strategy).

  • Another news, another opportunist. What different will useless rebellion make? Big money they were milking in Juba is drying up, so are looking for green pasture in rebel camps only to be running back to Juba after finding nothing there but desperation
