Juba/New York, July 20, 2017 (SSNA) — The chairperson of the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC) Festus Mogae told the United Nations that South Sudanese rebel leader Riek Machar has declined to renounce violence and that the rebel leader demanded that a new peace process be conducted outside South Sudan

The JMEC chairman told the UN he went to South Africa and asked Machar to publicly renounce the violence.

“The message I conveyed to Dr. Riek Machar was to renounce violence, declare a unilateral ceasefire and participate in the national dialogue. He declined to do so, he demanded a new political process by the region outside South Sudan,” Mogae told the UN.

A furious South Sudanese rebel official who refused to be named blasted Mogae’s statement, saying the message is “one-sided.” The armed opposition official called JMEC chairperson “a Salva Kiir’s spokesman” and urged him to resign.

The rebel official also claimed that Mogae’s actions clearly show signs of collusion with Kiir’s government.

  • This is an effort to save the American British and Israeli supported Rwandese Tutsi Dictator Museveni’s student Kiir. Where has the UN and IGAD been? After so many South Sudanese have been killed by the genocidal Dictators Museveni and Kiir, now the UN and IGAD want to rescue them from defeat by Machar rebel forces!!!! Machar is rihht, Museveni and Kiir have to be defeated for the Great Lakes region to have peace. On several occasions, both the American, British military and diplomatic representatives have told Indigenous Ugandans that their Rwandese Tutsi refugee immigrant puppet has brought stability in Uganda and the region!! Shame on them, every normal thinking Black person should take this as a clear message that White/Jewish racist supremacists don’t care for Black African lives. Hence their reason for trying to use some bought Afriican sellout puppet to force Marchar to negotiate with Dictators Museveni and Kiir who have committed genocide on millions of their fellow Africans! Could the use of genocidal dictators like Museveni, Kagame, Kabila and Kiir be the new way White/Jewish racist supremacists are trying to carry global population control on Africa? I am asking this question with concern after realizing that both American and British government have made secret of their military and ecomic support for the worst genocidal Dictator Museveni and his lieutenants Kagame, Kabila and now Kiir.

    • Many light skinned westerners are firmly behind Dr Machar. Make no mistake. IO to the genocidal government of Juba.
That Kiir is well past his use date is clear for all to see. His poison tongue Makuei Luet and the inflated spokesman Ateny also paet of the problem and not the solution. South Africa must immediately release Dr Machar.

Please do not blame others than pointing your blaming to Riek Machar Teny. Look when South Sudan’s government send members peacemaker so that, the former Vp, Riek Machar to be part of National Dialgue peace process unfortunately, he turned down that chance and he orders his militias to attacked Kuek town in the Northern Upper Nile State and I think the UN, Eu, US and other community must points their blames on this guy otherwise, there is no way to blame Juab’s government because they send people to meet with Riek Machar and he refused. The South Sudanese government has all rights to kick SPLA IO of Riek Machar at Fagak HQ and others places.

Albino, you are not making sense. Are you trying to tell us that Kiir is not a puppet of the Rwandese Tutsi refugee immigrant usurper of Uganda government, Dictator Museveni? Then what was Kiir doing in Uganda revently? Isn’t Kiir committing genocide on all other tribes except the Dinka? Kiir is the leader, why hasn’t he offered to step down and stop the war for the good of everybody? Do you realize that Museveni has committed genocide on millions of Indigenous Ugandans, invaded Rwanda and Congo and caused genocide of over 8 million people? If Museveni had done this in Europe, he would have been tried for crimes against humanity already! However, Museveni and his Tutsi hegemonists claim not to be Black, the White/Jewish racist supremacists have captitalized on this Tutsi whitewashed mentality by using the Tutsi generals to take control of the oil and mineral resources of the region!
This combination of Tutsi wannabe White racist ignorance, and White racist imperialism, must be exposed, condemned and defeated.

Dr Machar has not refused to denounce violence at all. Moggae seems to be getting out of the track not knowing what he is suppose to do and say. Moggae should develop another means of bringing the rival leaders together once more and try to talk to them in a group rather than going to visit a house arrested leader who is already in exile and in most cases have no any influence over his army. Machar is right not to participate in the national dialogue because he is not wanted by kiir and his government. In addittion, Machar has been replaced by a power-hungry member of his party, which means he is no longer of any importance but just a south sudanese citize. If Machar is needed to participate in any political discussions, imany factors should be considered including the reorganization of the august peace deal, return to negotiating table in Addis Ababa etc. Finally, Moggae must review his role description otherwise he is one sided and must tell the world and the east african community, he is not capable of carrying out this role.

  • Its very unfortunate for a leader like Moggar to to say such irresponsible statement in the security council. Moggae right from th begining didn’t know what his role in South Sudan was going to be other than making the south Sudan petro USDollars. Many South Sudanese thought he was going to bring peace to this country as mandated.Moggae watched the killing of those who came to see the implementation of the 2015 signed peace and chasing of Dr.Riak Machar from Juba without even talking Silva Kirr to stop what was going on. How can you expect such a person to talk good for the suffering south Sudanese. Moggar is a trading agent of the western powers otherwise he should have either been removed or resigned if he has self confidence in what he was appointed for. Replacement of Moggae to supervise the implementation of the 2015 signed agreement by a retired professional African general from the AU members mot even from the neighbouring countries may bring some fruitful expectations.

      Pat Lam,

Unless you do not see, understand and analyze political events that began right from the day our country was founded then you can say the people of South Sudan do not talk or care about peace. The people of the country like peace as a rare commodity in the world because it is being hoarded by the present leaders of the country. Imagine that when our leaders talked about political move to change because the country was at standstill on both social and economic development the the president was not pleased. The next step he took was he hatched a plan that effected the killing of innocent people who were viewed as Riek’s supporters. Then war began hitherto. With the aid of international community peace was reached but the belligerents fell out again. Riek who was persuaded to come into the government after the peace agreement was sought for annihilation by the government even after he went to public places to campaign for peace and democracy in the country. He never spared the congregation of all the major churches of the country. From this Lam you can know who is really not ready for peace in this country. Those who are exploiting the resources of the country without giving back to it are responsible for this catastrophe in the country. No one should be blamed for failure of the president to bring a just peace to the country.

  • I thing president Fetus run out of what to say , he should know that silence is sometimes better than telling words that will disgrace you. The UN that he is talking to are more steps ahead of Fetus Institution they already came out with their conclusions since day one when the conflict erupted for the second time in 2016. So him calling the victim to denounce violence did you mean for him to surrender himself to his killer, I really don’t understand the intention of the head of JMEC is he really monitoring the peace process or GE is imposing the implementation of reservations of Salva Kiir on the peace agreement. Asking Dr Riek to denounce violence and keeping quite on Salva aggression all over South Sudan and sitting as didn’t heard Makuai statement about the uniletiral ceasefire that PAGAAK isn’t included in. Who initiating violence in South Sudan now.

One does not go far to conclude that Mogae is in the payroll of J1 in secret in order to sink the entire peace process in the country. How dare could he say Riek has rejected to denounce violence while he is kept under virtual house arrest in South Africa under terms not understood while government troops are on offensive attacks on the positions of SPLA/IO Riek in the country. If self-defense is violence that Riek’s soldiers put to thwart government aggression then let so be it. My question to Mogae is who is violent ? Riek Machar who is South Africa or Salva Kiir who orders his troops to kill, rape and plunder people’s property in the country.

  • What does this hopelessly useless maggot of a Michael really know? Because he’s in Juba therefore he what he speaks is to be something that the Juba murderers want to hear and this puts Maggot Moggae on the same platform with the killers led by Kirr. These should be sad moments for Botswana that they had an idiot for a president, shame on him!
