Addis Ababa, May 19, 2018 (SSNA) — The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) is set to present to South Sudan’s warring factions a new peace proposal, an IGAD diplomatic source who requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media told the South Sudan News Agency (SSNA) in Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Addis Ababa.
In an exclusive interview on Saturday, the diplomate explained that South Sudan’s civil war has reduced the East African regional bloc to “a do-nothing” regional entity.
“We [IGAD] have been spearheading this peace process for well over three years now and nothing has been achieved so far. Some countries now think IGAD is a do-nothing organization,” the official explained.
“We have done too many consultations with all parties to South Sudan’s conflict with no success,” the source added.
The diplomate who official declined to give details of the upcoming proposed peace deal further explained that the East African regional body is finishing up a new peace proposal and that IGAD will present the fresh proposal by next week.
South Sudan’s main armed opposition, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army-In Opposition (SPLM/A-IO) and other opposition parties have in the past accused IGAD of working for South Sudan’s government.

With many years now Africa countenance doesn’t have single peace up to now for get about to solve these Tribal problem in South Sudan because African leaders are blinds in mine because they can not see the White things but they can see the food which is ready in the table look at them the have done nothing for their present since 1945-2018 look at this how many years up to now no development the keep listening to unintentional reasons among them seft while no idea to plan
