Rebel leader appoints new governor for Bieh State

Juba, July 3, 2018 (SSNA) — South Sudanese rebel leader Dr. Riek Machar has appointed a new governor for rebel-controlled Bieh state, a statement released by the armed opposition leadership shows.

Brig Gen Hoth Duol Bol was appointed as governor effective July 3, according to the statement. Machar also appointed Pal Mai Deng as deputy governor.

The appointment comes less than two weeks after the death of Koang Rambag Chol who died on June 23.
