Nairobi, August 2, 2018 (SSNA) — South Sudanese President Salva Kiir and rebel leader Dr. Riek Machar will meet in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, for more peace negotiations, according to Kenyan President’s office.

In an email to the media on Thursday, the Kenyan government did not detail what South Sudan’s rival leaders will discuss and why more negotiations are needed after Khartoum’s peace agreement.

Kiir and Machar are expected to finalize Khartoum’s power-sharing deal on August 5.

Attempts by the South Sudan News Agency (SSNA) to get the reaction from South Sudan’s armed opposition, SPLM-IO, went unanswered.
