Juba, July 15, 2019 (SSNA) — South Sudan President Salva Kiir and leader of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-In Opposition (SPLM-IO) Dr. Riek Machar are set to meet this month in the capital Juba, an aide to Machar said today.
In an email to the South Sudan News Agency (SSNA), the assistant explains that Machar and Kiir will meet this month and that the exact date is being worked out. He claims the two rival leaders will focus on peace implementation.
“Our leader and Kiir will meet this July to discuss the implementation of 2018 peace agreement,” he wrote, adding, “We don’t have the meeting date yet, but we will let you know as soon as we have it.”
It has emerged last week that the SPLM-IO wrote a letter to Kiir, asking him for a meeting. In the letter, Dr. Machar stated that the 6-month pre-transitional period expected to expire in November is approaching and that the two leaders must meet to discuss ways to meet the dateline.
The SPLM-IO also pointed out that two months have already passed without any progress and that these remaining four months should be used wisely to achieve peace.

It’s good to preceding for your widly implementation but @Dr machar take care with others who doesn’t need peach
Our prayers as citizens is to see peace shimmering in every part of the country. Hope this will be the last peace talk. We are discouraging ill-talk of the warmongers, tired of being insulted by neighbouring countries that we’re inhumane.
Michael is happy because he got a lot of money and the rest are suffering.
I hope this peace implementation will work
