Addis Ababa, October 2, 2019 (SSNA) — The leader of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army-In Opposition(SPLM/A-IO) Dr. Riek Machar will attend a special function in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa next week, a senior armed opposition official told the South Sudan News Agency (SSNA) on Wednesday.

The news comes less than two months before the November 2019 dateline to form a transitional government.

The official who declined to be named in the report because he was not authorized to speak to the media discloses that Machar will meet with some of the key players in the peace process, saying “it will be a very good meeting for the country.”

The SPLM/A-IO source also states that Dr. Machar will also conduct another face-to-face meeting with Salva Kiir after Addis Ababa special events. The official did not specify where the face-to-face meeting will be conducted.

However, the South Sudan News Agency was informed by a government official that Machar-Kiir’s meeting will likely take place in Juba.

  • Dear Citizens of my beloved South Sudan,
Its not too late for us to conquer the evil thoughts of disintegration that other self loved dictators have imposed amongst us. You have already realized and seen the consequences. Come back home, forgive each other and let’s start rebuilding this nation.
