Juba, December 27, 2020 (SSNA) — The United States-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention popularly known as CDC has recommended that U.S citizens should avoid “all travel” to South Sudan due to what it described as a “very high” risk of COVID-19 pandemic in the war-ravaged young nation.

The CDC places South Sudan under its “level 4” category along with many other African, Asian, South American, and European countries.

South Sudan has a poor healthcare sector and lacks enough qualified medical professionals.
