Juba, September 10, 2019 (SSNA) — The President of South Sudan Sava Kiir has canceled his meeting with the SPLM-IO leader Dr. Riek Machar on the second day, pushing their final face-to-face meeting to Wednesday. Machar came to Juba yesterday after Kiir agreed to meet with him to discuss peace implementation.

Kiir and Machar are working out ways to implement security arrangements so that a transitional government can be formed by November 2019 dateline.

In a press conference, presidential spokesman Ateny Wek Ateny stunned the people, saying the meeting between the two leaders has been canceled because Kiir is “busy with other commitment.”

Rumors quickly start circulating here in Juba soon after the announcement. Many people believe the President cancelled the meeting because he wants to help secret talks with the Jieng Council of Elders (JCE), a notorious tribal group widely believed to be controlling most of Kiir’s policies.

The two rival leaders are expected to meet again tomorrow morning.

  • Since Dr. Machar has been accompanied by deputy chairman of military council from Sudan, let Junubeen be patient and wait to the end. Mr President Salva Kiir, whether he likes it or not, he has to meet Riek. Southerners! The world is watching you. Akol Koor, Martin Lumoro, Molana Makuei and the rest, the world is watching you. Any failure to bring peace to South Sudan, invasion option is on the table.

Those two leaders went to the Vatican to show that their commitment was witnessed by God’s ambassador, who, kissed their feet in a sign of forgiveness and also erasing the millions of liters of blood poured by innocent Sudanese in the name of defending senseless warlords. God will surely strike one of them like he did to Saul so that he feels the pain of common man. I have predicted that one of those generals will be invited to hell

  • Salva Kiir need to be handed over to international law enforcement if he doesn’t want peace in South Sudan. European countries should come take over South Sudan for 50-100 years so we can live peacefully.
