Subject: Death Announcement and Condolence message

January 6, 2013 (SSNA) — The Thiang Students in Universities and Higher Institutes of learning would regrettably like to announce the tragic and ultimate death of the prominent member of Thiang  Nuer Community Professor Chuol Kai Thong, which occurred suddenly on the 4th of Jan 2013 in Juba.

Prof: Chuol Kai Thong was a senior revered Lecturer at the University of Upper Nile, his death will be therefore a national tragedy but it will  socially affect Fangak county or Thiang Community in particular.

Equally, the Association (TSAUHI) would also like to extend its condolence message to Lou Nuer Community and to the family of late Dr Michael Wal Duany who passed away on 1th Jan 2013 in Nairobi Kenya, the very day on which the world was celebrating the New Year Eve.

Indeed, the death of Professor Chuol Kai Thong and Dr Michael Wal Duany simultaneously is a great and traumatic loss to both Thiang, Lou Community(ies) and Naath Community in general.

Moreover, this is really one of the trying times the Thiang Community have ever had, so we are very glad  for and compliment the role played by friends, colleagues  and in laws of the Late Prof. Choul Kai in comforting us(Thiang) as the family affected.

However, we know that Prof. Chuol Kai Thong and Dr. Michael Wal  Duany will not only be missed by Thiang, Lou and Nuer Community, but also by South Sudanese in general because they were the national figures who had been and were serving the nations as a whole.

May the Almighty God rest their souls in eternal peace.
