The purpose of this position is to strengthen the Employer-Employees relationship and ensure a conducive working environment. |

Key responsibilities |
· Working closely with departments, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures; · Promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organization; · Liaising with a wide range of people involved in policy areas such as staff performance and health and safety; · Recruiting staff – this includes developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates; · Developing and implementing policies on issues such as working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management; · Preparing staff handbooks; · Advising on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits; · Undertaking regular salary reviews; · Negotiating with staff and their representatives on issues relating to pay and conditions; · Administering payroll and maintaining employee records; · Interpreting and advising on employment law; · Dealing with grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures; · Developing with line managers HR planning strategies which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements; · Planning, and sometimes delivering, training, including inductions for new staff; · Analysing training needs in conjunction with departmental managers. · Prepare statistical breakdowns including analysis of sickness/absence and holidays.

Position specifications |
· Degree in Human Resource Management or related field from a recognised university · Minimum 2 years administration experience · Excellent Computer skills · Good planning, organizational, analytical and decision-making skills · Be patient, tactful, diplomatic and approachable · Be able to deal with people who are stressed or upset · Be able to stay calm in difficult situation · Basic knowledge of employment law and labour law · Have good spoken and written communication skills · Be confident about gathering facts and statistics and making financial calculations · Respect the importance of confidentiality and professionalism · Have good organization skills and be able to develop plans, policies and forecasts · Have problem solving skills to deal with disputes, grievances and staffing problems · Be able to work as part of a team · Be able to work accurately, with good attention to detail · Be able to use databases, spread sheets, word processing and accounts packages
