Juba, December 3, 2016 (SSNA) — The board of directors of South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) has suspended its football head, Chabur Goc Alei, over financial misconduct, the SSFA said.

The South Sudan News Agency was told that Alei was “too corrupt” and that both the SSFA and the international football’s body has been investigating him for more than three months.

In an extraordinary meeting held on Wednesday, the board agrees that Alei is too corrupt and that he must ‘step aside or face immediate punishment’.

An internal memo reveals that Alei’s deputy, Andrea Abdella, is set to take over the leadership of the South Sudan Football Association.
