Juba, March 23, 2018 (SSNA) — The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) has completed a pavement rehabilitation of a road linking Kuajok, Wau, and Tonj. UNMISS states that a UN-run Chinese engineering company carried out the project.

The United Nations praised the completion of more than 170 kilometers pavement project, saying it will help peacekeepers facilitate the movement of humanitarian convoys within the Bahr el Ghazal region.

South Sudan still lacks major highways, making it difficult for people to take road trips. The United Nations is one of the major institutions involves in road development.

The project which has been in development for at least four months was completed in early March.
