Juba, September 16, 2019 (SSNA) — The United States Ambassador to South Sudan Thomas Hushek says Salva Kiir government lacks transparency and that it will take a while for the International community to trust Kiir again.

In an exclusive interview with the Voice of America (VOA), ambassador Hushek declares that Kiir has been misusing South Sudan’s resources including the oil.

The Sourh Sudan News Agency (SSNA) is aware that the US and other key countries refuse to fund the peace process, citing oil revenues.

South Suda’s information minister, Micheal Makuey Lueth has on numerous occasions accused the United States of working against peace because the American government refused to offer financial assistance.

I FOR ONE WOULD SAY KIIR, AND HIS JCE HAD BETRAYED SOUTH SUDAN.
SINCE INDEPENDENCE, WHERE ARE THE DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS THAT HIS ADMINISTRATION HAS ESTABLISHED OTHER THAN HIRING UPDFs USING THE COUNTRYS’ RESOURCES?, LOOTING, STEALING MONEY EVENT FROM PRESIDENTS’ OFFICE, AREN’T JIENG ACHIEVEMENTS?

The American embassador is very skeptical to trust president Kiir and his government, due to many issues toward peace process.
In matter of fact, the government of South Sudan has been misusing the resources of the country to fuel the current civil war instead to bring the peace into the country.

It is true that President Kiir is misusing South Sudan oil Revenue and the U.S government is pointing out what is hindering us from achieving long lasting peace. It is time for guys to take responsibility for your tribal loyalty because this country will collapse before our eyes if we continue to support President Kiir Regime! Let’s put our country first before our respective tribes.

  • It doesn’t matter whether they trust kiir or not, he has nothing to do with with that, because kiir is not US president, and also they don’t care any way, all they care about is their own interests which my president kiir refuses to allow American to overtake our resources, that’s why they are made and don’t like him,
Stay away from south Sudan America, is enough that you have caused a lot trouble in the world..

  • Kiir is not a visionary leader and he lacks leadership skills, he has hatred in his heart on other clans, we don’t want a tribal government, besides he was not democratically elected.

  • Why do you want America to finance the peace process and who actually needs peace, South Sudan or America? If South Sudan needs peace it should pay for it from its huge oil revenues which Kiir controls with his JCE.

You are right Mr. Ambassador. Kiir is a corrupted man. He did nothing to South Sudan even during the Peace time 2011- 2016, he will also do no good during the coming peace time. Kiir and Riek MENE, MENE TEKEL UPHARSIN, Daniel 5:25

  • The United States cannot be fooled with words. What happened to the millions that were poured in when SS seceded? Where is the infrastructure? The hospitals, the schools, etc. etc.? How can a government that has embezzled every penny intended for developing the country be trusted again? I do not recommend any funding that will go into individual pockets. Good job America.

Let American and the international community join hands to south sudan leadership in the current peace process to bring everlasting peace to the country other than adding pain to an injury by critics.
